(More customer reviews)We received the rotary cross slide table and were surprised by the age of the table. Although it is still in its original packaging, it is not the current model. My guess is that it is 15+ years old. The x and y movements are hard due to the age (it takes two hands). The unit will have to be disassembled, cleaned and lubricated. Palmgren 49181 MTC18 Compound Milling Table Review

(More customer reviews)I have found that most of the milling and positioning X-Y Tables available for the home owner / hobbyist are simply not well made and accurate.
Here we have a solid unit with smoothly moving slides all in a useable package with a table large enough to affix the work piece to.
The only detraction is the metric lead screws and dials, necessitating an inch/millimeter conversion.

The compound milling table from Palmgren has a precision-ground top to .001-inch total indicator reading. Its dials are graduated in .001-inch increments and have thumbscrews for an easy "0" setting, and its counterbalanced solid steel ball crank handles give you smooth movement. To eliminate interference with the machine table, the handles do not extend below the base.
